Beginning the New Year
The following was taken from a New Year's speech by King George IV in a broadcast he made
during the darkest days of World War 2.
And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year: Give me a
light that I may tread safely into the unknown. And he replied: Go out
into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be
to you better than light, and safer than a known way.
Solomon wrote it this way.
Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
